Aldeyjarfoss Waterfall

Located in Skjálfandafljót River with a drop of about 20 meters and surrounded by basalt columns. Not a common stop for it is a bit out of the way but a majestic and scenic waterfall well worth the extra mile.

Dettifoss Waterfall

Dettifoss Waterfall is located in Jökulsá á Fjöllum Glacial River. It’s 45m drop and width of 100m makes it the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The king of Icelandic Waterfalls.

Goðafoss Waterfall

Goðafoss Waterfall is located in Skjálfandafljót River. A 30 m wide and 12 m high beauty that has been part of Iceland’s Saga for 1000 years. Name means “Waterfall of the Gods” and refers to the old nordic gods such as Óðinn, Þór and Loki. When the Icelandic people converted to Christianity back in 1000AD Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði, one of Iceland most respected leaders threw the idols in to the waterfall, hence the name.

Hafragilsfoss Waterfall

Hafragilsfoss Waterfall is located a short walk from Dettifoss in Jökulsá á Fjöllum River. Height of 27 m and width 91 m. Along Dettifoss and Selfoss it makes Jökulsárgljúfur Canyon, a terrific canyon carved by the powerful glacial river through the ages.

Hrafnabjargafoss Waterfall

Hrafnabjargafoss is located in Skjálfandafljót River. A lesser known than his brothers in the same river, mainly because of it’s location, a bit out of reach. But it’s unique surroundings make the visit an unforgettable experience.

Selfoss Waterfall

Selfoss Waterfall is located in Jökulsá á Fjöllum River, and the first in the row of three, a short hike from Dettifoss. Selfoss is smaller than his bigger brother, with a drop of about 11 m, but rock formations around the waterfall make it a very picturesque location. Well worth the hike, especially in winter.

Ullarfoss Waterfall

Ullarfoss Waterfall is located in Svartá River, a spring water river that flows into Skjálfandafljót River. The smallest of our seven waterfalls, but a beautiful one. By the waterfall is a derelict power station.
