Ísafjörður is the largest town in the West fjords and is sometimes called the Paradise in the West. All the public services a visitor could need, from healthcare provisions to a cinema, are available in Ísafjörður. The campsite is about 4 km from Ísafjörður town center. Driving directions: Turn off the main road at Seljaland and follow the road into Tungudalur.
All the facilities at the site have been refurbished recently and the site is well situated for campers, surrounded by nature. The campsite offers a playground, barbecue facilities and WIFI, while the area has a lot of vegetation (compared to other places in Iceland).
The waterfall Bunárfoss characterizes the valley and the river Buná winds through the camp site. Tungudalur valley offers many hiking trails and is a great outdoor recreational area. A 9-hole golf course is very close to the camping site.
The Campingcard is not valid from July 31 – August 3. 2020.
