The Skjól campsite was opened in 2014 and is located between the great waterfall Gullfoss and Geysir on route 35 next to the farm Kjóastaðir. Geysir is only 3.5 km away while the great waterfall Gullfoss is only 6 km away.

At Skjól we have a nice restaurant with a pizza buffet as well as a salad buffet with soup and bread. The opening hours are 9am–3pm and 6–11pm from June 1 until Sept 15. All guests staying at Skjól receive a 20% discount at the Flúðir Secret Lagoon, which is an swimming pool. There are also horse rental facilities at Myrkholt, which is only 1 km away, and a great golf course Haukadalsvöllur, which is only 2 km away. You can also take a long or a short walk in Haukadalsskógur forest. For children, we have a sports field, trampolines and a playground with swings.
