Bolungarvík is a small municipality in the Westfjords area. It is an old fishing village with about 900 residents. Fisheries have always been important to most of the residents, providing their means of living and survival for many years. The surrounding area of Bolungarvík is quite a popular destination for hikers, horse riding and birdwatching. The campsite in the town of Bolungarvík is located next to the local sports center Lambhagi, which is situated by the bank of the river Hólsá. The site is easy to spot when driving into town, and offers ample comfort for its guests, offering the likes of electricity, a washing machine, a dryer and barbeque facilities. A swimming pool is located close by with hot tubs, a water slide and excellent sunbathing areas. This peaceful site in the awesome surroundings of the West fjords attracts many tourists, mainly during the summer season.
