The Kirkjuhvammur camping site in Hvammstangi is situated only 6 kilometers from highway 1, midway between Reykjavík and Akureyri. The site is located in a sheltered dell just outside the village, with a fully equipped service station and good facilities for campers and trailers. Hvammstangi is the largest town in the area of Húnaþing vestra. It offers a top class swimming pool, shops, restaurant, museums, galleries and other services.
