The Sauðárkrókur campsite is located close to the local swimming pool. Skagafjörður valley offers many great locations and tourist attractions such as museums, historic sights, golf courses, horse riding or horse shows, sport fishing or hiking in the beautiful nature. Close by visitors can try their hand at river rafting as well as having an opportunity to sail to the historic site of Drangey Island, which is highly recommended. There is great bird life in Skagafjörður and the prides itself in having one of the greatest numbers of Icelandic horses.
The campsite has a newly built service house with hot and cold showers, toilets, and a washing machine. Electricity can be purchased at the site and toilets can be emptied on site.
